The Intrepid Book Club is free for all current and former service members and their families, spouses and partners.

Copies of the books are available for free on a first-come, first-served basis and advanced registration is required. Books are a mix of fiction and nonfiction, all related to military or military family experiences.

Join fellow veterans, service members and military family members online for a lively book discussion! The Intrepid Book Club meets quarterly for a two-hour facilitated discussion with an introduction related to the Museum's collection and crew. For more information, please email or call 64. Virtual tours (using Zoom, Google Meet or other platform) are also available. These interactive programs can be tailored to the interests of the group. The Intrepid Museum offers free guided tours for organizations that serve veterans and military families. It will especially enrich the lives of individuals who require intensive healthcare services at home or in a hospital setting. This online program highlights objects and spaces within the Museum and invites individuals to ask questions, make comments and share stories. Families will explore historic spaces and methods that people have used to navigate throughout history as well as make connections to how we find our way today.įor veterans who are unable to visit the Museum, video chats build social connections and provide stimulating conversations. Military Family Programs (for children ages 3-18)Ĭreated for current and former military service members and their families, these programs include exploration of the Museum and related activities intended to engage the whole family. Programs take place at the Intrepid Museum and include take-home activity packets.įrom ships and planes to submarines and even space shuttles, vessels of all types use navigation to find their way. This program is for current and former service members only. Then, continue the conversation over a catered dinner.

Participants will create leaves in the memory of a fallen service member, which will be added to a collaborative Tree of Life sculpture, in honor of Memorial Day. Claymore Vets uses visual art to help foster social reconnection and growth within the veteran community. Maria Salazar-artist, Marine Corps veteran and founder of Claymore Vets-will lead participants through an art workshop. Then join peers for conversation, a behind-the-scenes experience and a catered dinner. Join fellow veterans and service members at the Intrepid Museum to explore the Museum without the crowds.
